Actress Anne Dudek has fine-tuned her diet over the years after recognizing what makes her feel best from the inside out.

“I try to avoid grains because my stomach just does much better without them,” she tells PEOPLE. “Along the same lines, I used to have a massive sweet tooth but have tried to cut out sugar completely. Half a banana in a smoothie tastes incredibly sweet to me now.”

To help ease her often-upset stomach, the star of Comedy Central’s new series Corporate says she has also become a fan of collagen.

“I used to make and drink bone broth regularly and the high collagen in the broth helped me with some stomach issues,” she says. “It sounds a little trendy and ‘L.A. weird’ but honestly made me feel much healthier!”

She also focuses on adding probiotics to her diet by eating things like yogurt, pickles or kombucha.

For exercise, Dudek says she walks for at least half an hour a day and does Vinyasa flow yoga at least once a week, but strives to go 3 to 4 times if her schedule allows.

Although she keeps her diet clean most of the time, Dudek admits she still allows herself her favorite food to stay sane: French fries.

The Verdict

“Anne fits in lots of vegetables each day,” says Atlanta-based dietitian Marisa Moore. “She could add berries like raspberries, blueberries and blackberries to her day for a boost of vitamin C and fiber. Some of her meals are light and may not fully cover an intense workout. If this is the case, she might add in some healthy carbs to cover it. It’s also essential to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and support healthy skin.”

NOTE: It is recommended that women eat at least 1,200 calories per day, and men eat at least 1,800 calories per day.
