Hachette Book Group has “terminated” its deal with Weinstein Books, EW has confirmed.

The publishing company has made the decision in the wake of multiple allegations of sexual misconduct against disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, co-founder of The Weinstein Company as well as its Weinstein Books imprint. He was fired from his own company on Sunday by its board of directors, days after taking an indefinite leave of absence.

“Hachette Book Group has terminated the Weinstein Books imprint, effective immediately,” Hachette said in a statement. “Going forward, titles currently under the Weinstein Books imprint will be published by our Hachette Books imprint, and the Weinstein Books imprint team will join Hachette Books.”

Weinstein Books originated as the independent Miramax Books in 2001, a venture co-run by Weinstein and his brother, Bob. Its rebranding came in 2009, when the brothers paired with The Perseus Book Group to create Weinstein Books, publishing a range of fiction and nonfiction titles.

The imprint was then entered into a co-publishing agreement between Perseus and Hachette in 2012, with Georgina Levitt tapped as its director and under which around 10 new books were published per year. Hachette spearheaded several book tie-ins with popular Weinstein film titles including the Oscar-nominated My Week with Marilyn and the acclaimed documentary Bully. Dick Van Dyke, Larry King, and other public figures also published under the imprint.
