M25 rapist Antoni Imiela, who carried out a series of sex attacks on victims as young as 10, has died, it emerged tonight while waiting for a decision on his release.

Antoni Imiela passed away aged 63 at HMP Wakefield on Thursday. He was jailed in 2004 and given seven life sentences for the rape of nine women and girls, eight of which occurred in just one year.

In 2012, he received a further 12 years after his DNA matched the suspect in an unsolved 1987 sex attack.

However, days after it was first reported that black cap rapist John Worboys was eligible for parole in January, it emerged Imiela had also been referred for parole, 14 years on from his detention.

The Prison Service confirmed Imiela’s death, which is not being treated as suspicious. He was reportedly suffering from heart problems.
