DJ and producer The Gaslamp Killer has published court documents from defamation cases against his rape accusers in a bid to clear his name. He filed legal proceedings against Chelsea Taldros after she took to Twitter in October 2017 and accused him of drugging and sexually assaulting her and a friend, RaeAn Medina, following a 2013 party at The Standard hotel in Los Angeles.

The Gaslamp Killer, real name William Benjamin Bensussen, previously slammed the allegations as “malicious and fabricated” in legal complaints, but he remained publicly silent on the issue, until he chose to make a bold publication declaration on his social media accounts on Tuesday, May 15.

In a lengthy statement published on Facebook, Bensussen insisted he is “100% innocent of these accusations” and he shared multiple pages of court documents from his pending defamation lawsuit against Taldros, as well as the dismissed litigation he filed against Medina, in a bid to clear his name.

“Last October, Chelsea Tadros made false claims on Twitter about a consensual sexual encounter that I shared with her and her friend RaeAn Medina 5 years ago,” he wrote. “Not only is this untrue, it is logistically impossible. Despite having numerous witnesses dispute her story, I had to remain silent for legal reasons. I so badly wanted to defend myself right away and share the facts with details from my witnesses. Because the case is now public record, I am finally able to come forward”.

Citing “inconsistencies” in Taldros’ testimony, the findings of a toxicology expert, as well as accounts by two credible witnesses, Bensussen claimed his life has been ruined by the “blatantly false” rape allegations.

“I urge you to look at the facts objectively, as this false claim has changed my life forever,” he wrote. “Within the first 24 hours of Tadros’ post, I received hundreds of death threats. I have subsequently lost everything that I have worked for; a career which took me 20 years to build. The damage done to my life, my friendships, my reputation, and my career is irreversible”.

Following the rape accusations, executives at the DJ’s Brainfeeder record label and bosses at the fabled Low End Theory club distanced themselves from Bensussen, and he was also dropped from a series of gigs.

Bensussen’s lawsuit again Medina was dismissed in March.
