Dwayne Johnson and Lauren Hashian’s Love Story: A Decade-and-a-Half Long Journey to Marriage

Dwayne Johnson, the former WWE champion turned Hollywood star, and singer Lauren Hashian have been married since 2020, but their love story began long before that. The couple first met on the set of Disney’s “The Game Plan” in 2007, a time when both were dealing with personal upheavals in their lives. Johnson was going through the process of divorcing his college sweetheart and producer Dany Garcia, while Hashian was coming off a breakup of her own. Despite these circumstances, they found themselves drawn to each other.

Johnson recounted in an interview with WSJ Magazine that he was initially not looking for a relationship when he met Hashian. However, he was quickly captivated by her beauty and charm. They started dating shortly after meeting and became each other’s source of comfort during difficult times. Johnson went through a period of depression following his divorce and the sudden death of his friend Paul Walker in 2013. Hashian provided him with much-needed support and laughter during these challenging times.

The couple remained together throughout Johnson’s rise to fame as one of the world’s highest-paid actors. They welcomed their first child together, Jasmine Lia Johnson, in December 2015. Despite being together for over a decade before getting married, Johnson expressed some hesitancy about legally cementing their bond due to the emotional toll his previous divorce had taken on him. They continued to live together as partners and raise their daughters without being married until they finally tied the knot on a Hawaii beach in August 2019 in front of just a handful of guests including their daughters Jasmine and Tiana.

Johnson has spoken fondly about his relationship with Hashian numerous times over the years, praising her sense of humor and her ability to make him laugh even during tough times. He has also credited her with helping him become a better father to their children. In an interview with People magazine in 2016, he described her as “the kindest and sweetest soul you’ll ever meet.”
