Alexander Isak is lighting up Euro 2020 and put in another brilliant performance as Sweden climbed to the top of Group E.

The Real Sociedad forward may not have got on the scoresheet, but he was at the heart of all the action as they beat Slovakia 1-0.

Isak has been one of the standout stars of Euro 2020 so far

It was his through ball for Robin Quaison that won the penalty, which was converted by Emil Forsberg.

Isak, who was named young player of the year in LaLiga last season, put in a brilliant shift completing an incredible six take-ons and having 23 passes that ended in the final third of the pitch.

There’s a clearly a reason why Premier League teams like Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked to the 21-year-old.

He was named the man-of-the-match for the game and nearly scored the goal of the tournament, taking on five players before having his shot saved by Martin Dubravka.

Former Premier League defender Micky Gray, who was co-commentator for the game on talkSPORT 2, urged English sides to sign the forward.

He said: “He’s 21 years old. You’ve got him for another 10-12 years playing like he has just done there. He’s doing it on one of the biggest stages. 

“There’s no doubt in my mind he could do it on a weekly basis in the Premier League. I’d love to see him do that. We want to see top stars playing in the Premier League, and he’d be a great addition.

“I thought he was fantastic. When he got the opportunity to run at the back line he was fantastic.

“On another day he might have got a hat-trick, but his overall performance was absolutely first class.

“He got young player of the year in LaLiga and I think we’ve got a star in the making.”
