State by state, premiers are slowly announcing the relaxing of isolation laws – allowing gyms and bootcamps to slowly reopen across Australia. Given lower than expected COVID-19 infection rates, South Australia has brought forward the date that gyms can open their doors to June 5th. Here’s a full list of reopening dates for every state and territory.

The curve is flattening faster and harder than we may have expected, which is very good news for those Australians dying to get back to the gym. South Australia has announced a date for gyms and fitness studios to reopen – June 5th, three days earlier than initially stated.

Early estimates on gyms reopening put national open dates at September, but due to the effectiveness of social distancing measures and the continued decline of coronavirus infections, we may be back in our favourite barre, HIIT or F45 class months sooner than Spring. Until then, we’ll have to thank our lucky stars for the plethora of online workouts available to help keep us fit (and sane).

As each state and territory determines how and when social isolation restrictions will ease, there is no nation-wide date to mentally work towards.
