Over the years, April Fools’ Day has offered no shortage of pranks and viral trends.

Speaking with Vivek Astvansh, an Associate Professor of Marketing at McGill University, Global News reporter Joe Scarpelli discusses the dangerous impacts artificial intelligence (AI) can have — particularly on a day like April Fools' Day.

In what are often intended to be innocent jokes, Astvansh says AI could amplify the harm caused and subsequent backlash people or companies may receive if someone is posing as them.
