Hammers in 'better position' to deal with Marko Arnautovic sale, says Stuart Pearce

Former West Ham United star Stuart Pearce has told talkSPORT the club are in good place to handle the sale of Marko Arnautovic should he complete a transfer to China.

The Austrian forward has been the subject of a £35million bid from an unnamed club, which has been rejected but the player is keen on making the move.

West Ham United ace Marko Arnautovic in action.

He started in their 1-0 win over Arsenal and showed no signs of having his head turned but did wave towards the home fans when substituted, with many fearing this is a sign his time at the London Stadium is over.

But instead of being worried about life after Arnautovic, Pearce, who spent two campaigns in east London, believes their better equipped than ever before to cope with such a prominent player departing thanks to their summer acquisitions.

“He [Arnautovic] played his part in a good team performance that was worthy of a victory, Pearce said on talkSPORT after the win over Arsenal.

“I would have liked to have seen him darting in behind a little bit more often but I think he played regular game.

“He’s a real talent at this football club and they have accumulated players well. Anderson is a very good player and intelligent, Fabianski is intelligent.

“They are a much stronger squad than they were last year and if Marko was to leave the club I think they are in a better position to deal with that.”
