Rose is currently lying second overall on the European Team points table and should be a certainty to be teeing-up in a fifth Ryder Cup.

While a member of the 2016 losing Hazeltine team the Olympic Gold medal winning Brit is clearly warming to being a member of Thomas Bjorn’s more ‘versatile’ Versailles team.

And this has everything to do with the volume of experience already in Bjorn’s side including the rookies Jon Rahm, Tommy Fleetwood and Swede Alex Noren plus the return of Paul Casey to the European side.

“We have a team that’s shaping up to be a very different animal to what we had two years ago,” said Rose in confirming he will be contesting this year’s Scottish Open.

“Tommy (Fleetwood), Jon Rahm and Paul Casey are changing the dynamics of our team massively in terms of the number of natural pairings that we can field.

“It’s always a 12‑man team but you’re only trying to find four good pairings.

“At the last Ryder Cup, we were at the bare in terms of pairings we could put out and everything else was a bit of ‘Hail Mary’.

“So, for me, the inclusion of those boys on the team, it’s going to shore up so many pairings and give us so many more options.”

Then there’s Fleetwood with the new World No. 10, and lying lying sixth overall on the European Team points table and with Rose singing the praise of the mop-top Southport star.

“I’m so impressed with Tommy, not just as a golfer but an individual.

“Played with him for three rounds last week. He’s just class on and off the golf course.

“He’s got one of the best temperaments on Tour.

“I can only see him going from strength‑to‑strength. When I look at his skill set, really, he hits the ball impeccably.

“I also find myself copying Tommy Fleetwood whenever I’m playing golf with him or trying to emulate some of the things he does so well in his swing and his putting stroke is very, very simple and efficient, but I think, you know, for me, his attitude is really what stands out the most.”
