Scott Parker tempted to quit Fulham and become Bournemouth manager as Cherries consider future of Jonathan Woodgate

Scott Parker would be tempted to quit Fulham and become manager at Championship rivals Bournemouth, talkSPORT understands.

Bournemouth have a long-standing interest in Parker dating back to when Eddie Howe left at the end of the 2019-2020 season.

Parker has also been linked with the vacant Tottenham job

Jonathan Woodgate took charge of the Cherries for the second half of last season, leading them to the play-off semi-finals, but is out of contract this summer.

Parker has managed Fulham since the latter stages of the 2018/19 season, bringing the club straight back up to the Premier League after relegation in that campaign.

However, the former England midfielder could not prevent the Cottagers from suffering relegation to the Championship again this term, despite some eye-catching football.

Woodgate, meanwhile, restored his managerial reputation at Bournemouth this season after a poor debut campaign with Middlesbrough.

Taking over from Jason Tindall on a temporary basis in February, Woodgate earned the job permanently despite speculation linking the Cherries with Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira.

However, having guided Bournemouth to the play-offs, his side threw away a two-goal aggregate lead as eventual-winners Brentford came from behind in the second-leg.

With Fulham needing a massive rebuild due to the expiration of numerous player contracts, Parker could see Bournemouth as a better opportunity to get back in the Premier League.
