On Saturday, a new law in South Korea changed how millions of peoples’ ages are counted, making citizens unexpectedly younger overnight.

Almost entirely, the South Korean government is dropping the system where it counts time in the womb as part of your age. Officials said the decision was made to avoid confusion and disputes.
