We take a look back at all the couples to come out of the Bachelor and Bachelorette Australia franchise to see who’s still together and who’s broken up.

Despite the controversy and scandals surrounding this year’s Bachelor Locky Gilbert, it seems he indeed has found love with 31-year-old nurse Irena Srbinovska.

But the big question is – will the Survivor star lead a strong love story like that of Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski who have even gone on to have two children together? Or will things soon go downhill outside of the mansion like it did for Matt Agnew and Chelsie McLeod?

For now, we will just have to wait and see. But in the meantime, here’s a roundup of all the relationships from the iconic dating dating show, and where they are now.

Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich

Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich met on the very first season of The Bachelor Australia back in 2013.

In 2017, the couple announced their engagement and tied the knot a year later in Italy.

The two then announced they were expecting their first child together in May 2020.

“It’s been so hard to keep this a secret, over the past few months, but I can now finally shout I’m pregnant!” Anna announced on Instagram alongside photos of her clutching her belly. “With everything that’s going on in the world we feel incredibly lucky and grateful to be starting a family together, and we’re so looking forward to this next chapter in our lives.”

Blake Garvey and Sam Frost

Well, the second season of The Bachelor was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Bachelor Blake Garvey got down on one knee and proposed to winner Sam Frost, making Bachelor history.

But only a day after the finale aired, it was announced Blake had dumped Sam and began dating Louise Pillidge, who came not second, but third on the dating show.

18 months later and the two separated.

Luckily for Sam, that wasn’t the end of her quest to find love as she went on to become Australia’s first Bachelorette.

Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski

It’s possibly the greatest love story to ever come out of the Bachelor franchise.

The two met on the third season of The Bachelor in 2015, where the season ended with Sam giving Snezana a promise ring.

The couple’s relationship was long distance at first as Snezana and her daughter Eve were based in Perth and Sam was in Melbourne. However, Snezana and Eve made the move to Melbourne four months later, and Sam proposed in December 2015.

In 2017, the couple welcomed their first child together, Willow Wendy Wood, and then tied the knot a year later in November 2018.

In July 2019, Sam and Snezana gave birth to their second child together, Charlie Lane Wood. And the fairy tale only continues.

Sam Frost and Sasha Mielczarek

After being dumped by Blake Garvey, Sam went on to become Australia’s first Bachelorette, where she chose Sasha Mielczarek in the finale.

Unfortunately the pair split up a year later.

Sam is now an actress on Home and Away and a mental health advocate.

Richie Strahan and Alex Nation

Richie, who came third on Sam Frost’s season, got a second chance at finding love.

Richie chose Alex Nation in the 2016 finale, and gave her a promise ring.

But the pair split up in August 2017. While the details of the breakup were left unexplained, the pair ended up on Bachelor in Paradise together in 2019 where they were able to talk it out.

The two talked about how their long-distance relationship affected both of them.

“[You weren’t there] when I needed you most – when I needed you – and you know what I’m talking about,” Alex said.

Richie is now in a relationship with Perth woman Jenayah Thompson.

Alex went on to date AFL teammate Maegan Luxa, and announced their engagement in December 2017. Unfortunately, the pair split shortly afterwards.

Georgia Love and Lee Elliott

Georgia and Lee are another success story to come out of the franchise.

The two met in 2016, where Georgia chose Lee in the Bachelorette finale.

The pair moved in together in August 2018 and announced their engagement in September 2019.

Georgia and Lee have just launched a business together, Georgia Elliott Sleepwear.

Matty Johnson and Laura Byrne

Matty J, who was Georgia Love’s runner-up, got a second chance at love and found it with Laura Byrne. The two moved in together in mid-2018 and got engaged in April 2019.

The pair welcomed their first child together, daughter Marlie-Mae Rose Johnson in June 2019.

And just recently, they announced they’re expecting their second child.

Sophie Monk and Stu Laundy

Sophie Monk chose the season’s intruder Stu Laundy, but three months after the finale aired and the pair announced their split.

Now, Sophie is dating Joshua Gross, who she met on a plane.

“I had just finished filming Love Island in Mallorca and was on my way to San Francisco for a random TV gig with Channel Nine when I made a last-minute decision to go back to Australia,” Sophie told The Sydney Morning Herald.

“I sat next to Josh in business class and we started chatting. About two hours into the flight, I asked him if he was single. He responded yes. I then asked if I could kiss him. I was clearly out of practice and a bit of a nerd so I went to brush my teeth and thought, ‘Let’s do this.’ We had 16 hours to go.”

Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins and…no one

He’s famously known as the Bachelor who didn’t pick either of his final two contestants, dumping both Sophie Tieman and Brittany Hockley in the 2018 finale.

According to social media, it looks like he’s still single.

Ali Oetjen and Taite Radley

Ali chose Taite on The Bachelorette in 2018, but only recently the two announced they have broken up.

“It is with the heaviest heart that we want to let everyone know that we have decided to take time apart in order to give each other space and time to fully focus on our own paths,” Ali said in a heartfelt Instagram post.

“We both love each other deeply and only want the best for each other and both want the ultimate happiness for each other and hopefully our paths will reconnect again soon.

“We’ve decided to be open with this so there’s no speculation and so we expect love, respect and kindness in return.

“I love you Taite.”

Matt Agnew and Chelsie McLeod

Astrophysicist Matt chose Chelsie to be his girlfriend in 2019, gifting her with a ‘memory ring’ as a token of their time together.

But six months after the finale ended and the couple announced their break up.

Matt made the announcement on Instagram, citing disparity between the romance they felt for each other during the show “hasn’t translated.”

“For Chels and me, our relationship hasn’t translated from filming to the real, everyday world as we had hoped,” Matt wrote.

“For those who may wonder if there’s someone else for me right now, there absolutely is not. It’s no one’s fault, it’s just life.”

Chelsie broke the information to Instagram at around the same time of day with a series of screenshots from the couple’s time on the dating show.

“Matt showed me what it was like to be respected in a relationship and I am so thankful for that. However, it saddens me to say that we are no longer together,” she wrote.

“I wish him nothing but the best. I’m sorry to those that were invested in our relationship.”

Angie Kent and Carlin Sterritt

Former Googlebox and I’m a Celebrity star Angie Kent star chose Carlin Sterritt over fan favourite Tim Hanly in the 2019 season of The Bachelorette.

Unfortunately the two announced their split in July 2020.

“There’s been a lot of speculation and rumours about the status of my relationship with Carlin,” Kent posted to her Instagram story.

“We have not wanted to confirm until this point because there have been much bigger issues going on in the world and we’ve both been taking space to think about what we really want.

“Matters of the heart are extremely difficult and I’m sad to say that Carlin and I have broken up.”

The 30-year-old asked her fans to respect their decision and requested for privacy during the difficult time.

“I appreciate everyone’s concern and the investment that many of you made into the show and our story, but this is real life and we both need privacy and time to heal,” she continued. “I just want to put the rumours to be and to clarify so that questions stop.

“Please remember we are both human beings like everyone else, so be kind if you do choose to leave comments or messages. Words can be very harmful – and compound already very difficult times.”

Following Angie’s message, Sterritt also posted a series of videos to his Instagram story.

“It is true that Angie and I have gone our separate ways. But it’s for the best for us individuals and I simply just wanted the best for her and best for me,” he told his followers.

Sterritt explained that he had been struggling with his mental health, which contributed to the couple’s split.

“As some people already knew from previous posts, my mental health had taken a bit of a left turn and I just simply wasn’t the best version of myself or able to give the best version of me to Angie. But again I just wish her well.”

He asked everyone to be mindful about their breakup.

“Please just be kind,” he added.

“Everyone is battling something that you may never understand or even see. We don’t put everything in our lives on social media. We put the five per cent up that we want people to see. There’s always other stuff going on so please just think about that before you want to comment or anything.”

He concluded saying: “I’ll just sign off saying I want nothing but love and happiness for Angie and I truly do mean that, and she knows that, and I know she wants that for me as well.”
