All Elite Wrestling has arrived and with the moves they’ve made thus far, they appear a real alternative to WWE.

Cody Rhodes – formerly of WWE of course – The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega will serve as executive producers for the company that is fronted by the deep pockets of the Khan family.

Shahid and Tony Khan are behind AEW and they are also the owners of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham. Forbes estimates them to have just shy of double the net worth of Vince McMahon at over $6 billion.

They have already managed to entice Chris Jericho aboard and have other great names like PAC and Hangman Page on their roster, but who else are they interested in acquiring?

On a day where reports have surfaced suggested AEW have reached out to Batista, we look at the top 10 current WWE stars who could wind up in AEW before long:

Shinsuke Nakamura

The Artist signed with the WWE in 2016 but his three-year contract runs out after WrestleMania 35. Although he won the Royal Rumble in 2018 and has had a run with the United States title, he has failed to replicate the magic he found with Sami Zayn on his opening night in NXT.

Given his recent one-day U.S. title reign before dropping the title to R-Truth and the months on end he spent losing to AJ Styles, one has to think he’ll seek a return home or a link-up with some pals in AEW.

The Usos

The Usos are, arguably, the best tag team in the world. And yet, they have only featured on the main card of WrestleMania once in the past decade, and that was last year.

If that doesn’t spell out how the WWE uses its tag division, nothing will. The prospect of heading to AEW for less dates and tearing it up with The Young Bucks must be appealing and knowing how great those matches would be, they would take the internet by storm. Both of the Usos deals are up in late April, but Jimmy being married to Naomi might play a role in them staying.

The Revival

It’s no secret The Revival have asked for their release from the WWE in 2019 and the company said no. Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson cannot walk away from the WWE until 2020 and it’s clear they would have been AEW bound had they got their wish to go now.

Since then, WWE has made them their Raw Tag Team champions and let them put on a 15-minute clinic on Raw to win them. The WWE have a whole year to placate one of the best tag teams in the world, but if, like The Usos, they don’t feel they’re being used properly, The Young Bucks are waiting with open arms

AJ Styles

Plenty of pros and cons as to why AJ Styles might wind up in AEW. Working in AEW’s favour, Styles has mentioned plenty that he would like to work a much lighter schedule that the one WWE currently boasts and he wants to spend more time with his kids. Styles could probably earn what he is now with WWE for half the dates.

AJ Styles has had a tremendous run in the WWE

Working against AEW is how well WWE has booked and taken care of Styles. Vince McMahon has made The Phenomenal One a top guy and Styles sure didn’t expect to be one. Now a two-time WWE champion with two long reigns, Styles has a decision to make with his contract running out after WrestleMania. It’s no secret it’s dragging on because of the number of dates the WWE would like him for.

Dean Ambrose

Well, we already know that Dean Ambrose will be leaving the WWE when his contract expires after WrestleMania. The WWE have announced it and that seems final given the way he is being booked.

However, will he go to AEW? Reports suggest that Ambrose is far more likely to take a break from wrestling altogether rather than head to AEW. Sure, Ambrose may listen to what AEW has to say and might even have a match or two at some stage, but it’s almost certain with Shield reunions possible and such that Ambrose will return to WWE one day.

Randy Orton

This one will probably surprise fans the most. Orton has been a mainstay of WWE TV since 2002 and being a third generation superstar on top of being a 14-time world champion, he just screams WWE.

However, he is 38-years-old now and will be 39 by the time WrestleMania 35 have passed. When you consider the miles he has clocked up on his body and the young family he has, he too will be looking at making good money on reduced dates. Will he actually ditch the WWE? Reports say he’s open to talking to AEW but I suspect he would just use those talks as leverage.

Sasha Banks

Another superstar with links to AEW recently in the media, Banks would easily be their headline star in the women’s division and she’d bring a lot of fans with her. The Boss has been a bit of an afterthought in the WWE over the past year; her date with Ronda Rousey at the Royal Rumble this year was her first one-on-one title match since August 2017.

For a star as bright as Banks and someone that has made plenty of history in WWE, that’s plenty of time out of the spotlight. If she wanted to be featured in a major way again and lead a division for leader’s pay, AEW is there. However, you have to think being apart of the Four Horsewomen and the potential for her angle with Bayley is keeping her interested at the moment.

Cesaro

There has been no suggestions that Cesaro might leave the company, but if you start adding things up it makes the world of sense. The Swiss Cyborg only has a year left on his contract and is earning a paltry $500k-a-year downside. That’s half of what his tag team partner Sheamus earns…

WWE Superstar Cesaro

WWE Superstar Cesaro is one of the most gifted in-ring performers the company has

Vince Mcmahon once famously stated he didn’t think Cesaro ‘connected with the audience’ when Stone Cold Steve Austin asked why he wasn’t pushed. As an independent legend, Cesaro could be a huge, huge star in AEW and he’s world champion material any way you look at it. That must be alluring for him and AEW could certainly afford him.
