Major Crime detectives said they went to a home in Torrensville in Adelaide's western suburbs last night and arrested a 22-year-old man and a 27-year-old Thebarton woman.

The pair have been charged with murder, aggravated serious criminal trespass and committing theft using force and will face court today.

Dr Michael Yung was found by emergency services with serious injuries at his Gilberton home on Monday morning.

The 61-year-old was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he died on Tuesday surrounded by family.

Dr Yung was the former head of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Women's and Children's Hospital.
