The government has announced that five hospitals with safety issues caused by deteriorating concrete will be rebuilt by 2030.

Over 20 billion pounds will be invested in the New Hospital Scheme which also includes two other hospitals previously announced.

The Health Secretary Steve Barclay said the government remains committed to building a total of 40 new hospitals in England by the end of the decade. But the Opposition called on him to "come clean" and admit that this target would not be achieved.
