Filming on the Wonder Woman sequel is officially underway, and director Patty Jenkins has released the first photo from the new movie.

The image is quite a doozy. It reveals that Diana Prince’s (Gal Gadot) ill-fated love interest Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) is somehow back in the new film — if it is indeed really him?

Jenkin’s tweet seems pretty declarative that this is really Steve:

The tweet also seems to suggest that the sequel’s title is Wonder Woman 1984. A previous teaser released suggested the film is set in that same year, and the costumes on the extras in this mall photo seem to confirm that (not to mention Steve rocking a Members Only jacket).

Previously Jenkins revealed the Wonder Woman sequel will be set in the United States. If the sequel follows the format of the first film, it could also include a bookend scenes set during the present day.

The director has also confirmed Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids) will be playing Wonder Woman’s nemesis Cheetah in the sequel. Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) is also cast in a “pivotal role.”

The film is the follow up to the 2017 sensation that grossed $817 million at the box office and received widespread critical acclaim. Wonder Woman 2 will be released Nov. 1, 2019.

Next up for DC films, however, is the stand-alone Aquaman starring Jason Momoa coming out Dec. 21 — and they’re pretty excited about that one.
