The biggest night in fashion never disappoints. The Met Gala 2023, held in conjunction with the inauguration of the Costume Institute's new exhibition, "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," which commemorates the life and work of the late design legend, asked famous guests to dress "in honor of Karl," and many understood the assignment.

The vast majority of visitors wore black and white, Karl Lagerfeld's favorite color palette and there were plenty of tweeds, pearls, chains, and camellias — all style trademarks of Chanel, Fendi, Chloé, and perhaps even the high-street Karl Lagerfeld brand.
