Amid the rising popularity of drugs like Ozempic being used for weight loss, there are new reports both in Canada and the U.S. that poison control centres are receiving increased calls about what they call overdoses of these medications.

Poison centres have noted calls about semaglutide, the generic name for Ozempic but is also found in Novo Nordisk's Wegovy and Rybelsis, as well as liraglutide — another medication used to combat diabetes but can be used for weight loss.

Sean Previl reports on what's being seen and what doctors are saying.
