Bodhi Mani Risby-Jones, 23, was detained in late April after police accused him of attacking several people, including a fisherman who was seriously injured, near a surf resort in Aceh province.
The Sunshine Coast man apologised for the attack and struck a compensation deal with fisherman's family to avoid the case going to court.
Had he been charged with assault and found guilty, he would have faced a prison sentence of up to five years in Aceh.
He has been released from jail and is at the immigration office in Meulaboh, which is four hours south-east of the provincial capital Banda Aceh.
Mr Risby-Jones will then fly south-east to Medan on Friday, according to his lawyer.
