Animal rights activists have released footage obtained by hidden cameras installed at five Tasmanian abattoirs, saying the vision shows animals being "dragged, thrown and beaten" and killed "while fully conscious".

The Federal Government has threatened to suspend the licence of one abattoir Tasmanian Quality Meats. It says it's already made changes to improve animal welfare.
