Germany’s biggest state Bavaria is bracing for its local elections. The traditionally conservative region is considered the wealthiest state of all in Germany. Still, the far right Alternative für Deutschland, as in the rest of Germany, is projected to reach a new record share of the vote in the upcoming elections. We went there to the Bavarian city of Straubing to find out why.
