Officials from FDNY Uniformed Firefighters Association and NYC firefighters held a news conference on Monday to discuss the number of firefighters who have died from illnesses related to their work at the World Trade Center during and after the 9/11 terror attacks. The department said the death toll linked to 9/11-related diseases among FDNY members is 343, which is equal to the number of members who died on the day of the attacks.
