The main goal of your pull is to push as hard as possible backward against the water so that you move forward. An effective catch should create a large surface area with your hand and forearm, with which you can push backward against the water. Once you’ve created a large surface area, your goal should be to maintain the same surface area as long as possible throughout your pull. The speed at which you move your hand also affects the amount of propulsion you create. The faster you move your hand, the more propulsion you create. #swimming #freestyleswimming
