Reports of an Egyptian brokered ceasefire did not reduce the intensity of the violence as Israeli strikes killed senior Islamic Jihad members. The Palestinian health ministry reported new casualties, taking the overall toll to 29 people. At least one Israeli was killed in Rehovot when a rocket hit a residential building.
