A German court has convicted five men over a massive jewel heist from 2019, when they stole more than $160 million worth of jewellery from a Dresden museum.

While many of the pieces have since been recovered, there are fears the rest of the looted goods may never be found.

Mike Armstrong explains how the robbery unfolded, who the group of thieves is affiliated with, and why there's criticism of the penalties handed out to the gang members.
