Ontario's new housing minister, Paul Calandra, faced questions about the government's review of the Greenbelt land swaps on Wednesday.

Former housing minister Steve Clark, resigned from his position on Labor Day after he was found to have violated ethics rules by Ontario's integrity commissioner over the Greenbelt scandal. On Monday, the government announced a cabinet reshuffle, with Calandra being appointed as the new Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford said Tuesday that the province would launch a review of the controversial Greenbelt land swaps criticized by two provincial watchdogs for being "rushed" and "flawed."

The review will include all protected Greenbelt land parcels, including 14 previously removed for housing development. Premier Ford said assessing these 14 sites is part of the larger review.

Opposition leaders are concerned this review may lead to opening more of the Greenbelt.
