New data reveals Melbourne recorded the fastest growth in rent prices of any capital city in the country. The cost of renting a Melbourne unit rose 17.5 per cent in the year to June. It has prompted Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews to say more high density housing in established suburbs is needed to address the housing crisis.
