Research shows endocrine disrupting chemicals (which can affect the human body's hormonal system) are present in 95 per cent of people tested.

More than 800 chemicals are known or suspected EDCs that may mimic, block, or interfere with the body's hormones.

The federal government has recently established the Industrial Chemicals Environmental Management Standard to help industry and governments manage the risks of chemical additives in plastics.
