The Bank of England is expected to increase its interest rate for the 14th time in a row, with economists predicting a 0.25 percentage point rise to 5.25%.

Shadow Business Secretary Jonathon Reynolds said "inflation is a huge problem" and the government needs "to make sure we have an economy which is resilient and resistant to some of those pressures and clearly we haven't got that at the minute compared to some of our peers".
