An eyewitness has said "people were flying, whole bodies, body parts" and described a "man burning in front of me" in the al Ahli hospital courtyard.

Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry said at least 500 people were killed in the explosion, but the Israel Defence Forces has accused Hamas of inflating the death toll.
