Royal super fans from the U.S. to the U.K. are preparing for King Charles III’s upcoming coronation on May 6 with excitement and colourful attire. Seasoned spectators of royal weddings and Jubilee celebrations, fans across the country described their passion for the monarchy.

Seventy-nine-year-old Margaret Tyler's fascination with the British royal family began as a child, when she would cut out photos of the now-King Charles III and his sister, Princess Anne. "Some people smoke, some people drink, some people go on holiday — I don't do any of those things. I'm here, watching the royals," Tyler explained.

Like Tyler, 87-year-old Terry Hutt is also an avid royal fan, forming a special connection with them after the Queen Mother visited a church hit by a bomb while he and his family were sheltering during World War II. Asked if he will attend the coronation, Hutt said that he will go if he is well enough after a medical operation.

For 71-year-old Donna Werner from the U.S., she described her excitement to be in London for her first coronation and said that this was a “once-in-a-lifetime experience" as she prepared to camp out for the next few days to secure a spot to watch King Charles being formally crowned on Saturday. “We don't have anything like this in the States," Werner added.
