Labour has been 'naïve' on oil and gas, says GMB union chief

Gary Smith, General Secretary of the GMB union, has said Labour have been "naïve" and have "got it wrong" on oil and gas.

"We are critical friends with the Labour Party, and I think there is a lack of critical thinking on oil and gas. They are focusing on what is popular rather than what is right for the country," he told Sophy Ridge On Sunday.

Mr Smith went on to stress that Labour's policies will create a "cliff edge" with oil and gas extraction from the North Sea.
