The loved ones of two of the army aviators presumed dead after their military helicopter crashed in the Whitsundays on Friday night have posted online tributes to the men.

Lieutenant Maxwell Nugent, Warrant Officer Class 2 Joseph Laycock, Corporal Alexander Naggs and Captain Dan Lyon were taking part in a training operation as part of Exercise Talisman Sabre when their MRH90 Taipan ditched into the ocean near Hamilton Island.
