Majority of Canadians feel Trudeau should resign in 2024: poll

A majority of Canadians – 69 per cent – feel Prime Minister Justin Trudeau should resign in 2024, according to a new poll done exclusively for Global News.

The reasons for wanting Trudeau to step back, however, differ depending on who you ask.

“There’s people that are thinking that, you know, any change is a good change. And then there’s another group of people who are saying, in order to position the Liberal Party for the next election because I can’t vote for Poilievre and I can’t vote for Singh, I need another option on the Liberal bench,” explains Ipsos Public Affairs CEO Darrell Bricker.

Almost as many people said they don’t expect the prime minister will relinquish his role as head of the Liberal party.
