Man stranded near Iceland volcano eruption rescued with S.O.S signal

In a dramatic rescue operation on Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula, a commercial pilot spotted an emergency signal close to the site of a live volcanic eruption. Pilot Ernir Snaer and his friend Finnir Snae Baldvinsoon were flying near the eruption when they saw a flashing light and identified it as an S.O.S signal.

After identifying the source of the signal, Snaer called the control tower at Reykjavik Airport, which alerted the authorities.

The stranded man was airlifted by rescue teams to Reykjavik for medical attention.
