Mark Zuckerberg has apologised to parents whose children have died following exploitation or harassment on social media during a hearing in Congress.

The Meta founder was being questioned by senators alongside the Chief Executives of X, TikTok, Snap and Discord. At one point they were told they had "blood on their hands".

The bosses were being pushed on their company's efforts to stop the exploitation of children online as the pressure to regulate social media in the United States intensifies.
