Pakistan's political parties are engaging in coalition talks as the country looks set to get a new government.

Shehbaz Sharif, leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), on Tuesday said that the party engaged in coalition talks as Pakistan looks set to get a new government.

“We and our party are already engaged in talks with political parties who have bagged votes, whether it is MQM (Muttahida Qaumi Movement), PPP (Pakistan Peoples Party), JUI (Jamiat Ulema Islam) and other parties. Today I spoke to Sardar Khalid Magsi in Balochistan. We will, God willing, play our role because the country has to move forward.” Sharif said.

Meanwhile, during a press conference in Islamabad, the Chairman of the PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, stated that his party would not join the government.

However, he expressed support for the PML-N to form a minority government to end the stalemate that arose after the inconclusive elections held in the country.
