People were rescued on Tuesday while crossing the Channel and brought to Dover, hours after the UK approved its migrant deportation bill. Footage by British broadcaster Sky News showed the UK Border Force vessel approaching the small crowded boat to rescue people aboard. Later, those rescued were seen disembarking from the rescue boat in Dover and walking to a facility. Meanwhile, French authorities said five people, including a child, died in an attempt to cross the Channel in a small boat near the town of Wimereux, south of Calais. The latest crossings come only hours after British prime minister Rishi Sunak’s latest effort to send some migrants on a one-way ticket to Rwanda finally won approval from parliament
