In the space of just two years, Australian sheep and lamb prices have soared to record heights before plunging to lows, in some cases not seen since 2007.
The turnaround in conditions - and fortunes - is forcing producers to make tough decisions.
The ABC's National Rural reporter, Kath Sullivan, looks at what's behind the tanking market, and what's needed to help the world's largest sheep meat exporter out of this slump.
