The UK prime minister held a surprise press conference inside 10 Downing Street after a divisive bill drove the immigration minister, Robert Jenrick, to resign. Sunak laid out plans for the government's new legislation regarding its Rwanda scheme, after human rights laws had blocked flights from leaving. Sunak said the bill had addressed concerns after the supreme court commented on conditions in Rwanda 18 months ago. 'It is unequivocally safe,' he said. The prime minister added that under the latest bill, successful reasons behind challenging the scheme would be 'vanishingly rare'.
