Tim Hortons is testing out plastic-free fibre lids made from plant-based materials in several stores in the Ottawa area, as well as one store in Gatineau, Que. as it says it's continuing its journey to sustainable alternatives.
Some sustainability experts, however, have questions that remain, both in terms of how much impact Tim Hortons' changes to packaging is having and concerns more needs to be done on issues like consumption, noting how much Canadians throw out on a day-to-day basis.
Sean Previl reports on this latest trial by Tim Hortons, and if they have plans to change the packaging for all their products in the future.
