What’s old is new in downtown Calgary. The city has completed its first office conversion to affordable housing units – a project spearheaded by the charity HomeSpace.
“There’s a lot of very large empty office buildings in Calgary and for us – especially from an affordable housing lens – we wanted to make it a size that was okay for the core, from a residential point of view and affordable housing point of view: not too big, not too small," HomeSpace CEO Bernadette Majdell told Global News.
