United States: Storm Hilary brings record 'life-threatening' rain to California

The first tropical storm to hit California in more than 80 years has brought record rain and flooding to Los Angeles, and even desert areas like Palm Springs and Death Valley.

Schools have closed and flights cancelled, and more than 26 million people are under flood warnings.
