Severe weather has left a trail of destruction in the U.S. Midwest on Wednesday, including multiple reports of tornadoes.

Nearly two dozen confirmed or suspected tornadoes in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio littered roads with fallen trees and branches, shredded homes and barns, and scattered debris across city and countryside alike.

The U.S. National Weather service said a strong cold front collided with a record warm air mass to trigger thunderstorms and golf ball-sized hail. No injuries were reported, despite the storm’s timing at night.

“We are all very grateful that no one was seriously hurt and [there was] no loss of life,” Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said in a Wednesday press briefing.
