After the local elections, all the main parties will be looking at the numbers to learn more about the way votes were cast.

While Labour may have been celebrating today, the party also has lessons to digest over its position on the conflict in Gaza.

Hasan, 44, from Sandwell says "The way the Labour party leadership ignored the concerns of many people, progressives, Muslims in particular, and I feel like they punished labour for that and hence why the vote was so narrow,"
