Emergency services were called to Narelle Crescent, Greenacre about 10:30am on Wednesday morning after reports of shots fired.

They arrived to find 30-year-old solicitor, Mahmoud Abbas, with gunshot wounds.

Police believe he was outside the home when he was approached by an unknown person and shot.

Detective Superintendent Adam Johnson this afternoon said Mr Abbas was getting into his car and was about to leave when the incident took place.
