????????♂️ Swim Faster…
1. GOAL SETTING
Swimming is a tough sport! Achieving the results you desire takes time. Setting long-term goals enables you to work backwards from and breakdown your ultimate goal into smaller, more realistic stepping stones that will eventually result in success when worked upon ????
2. CONSISTENT ATTENDANCE
A consistent routine allows your body to adapt to the workload easier. Try to avoid training 6 times one week, followed by 2 sessions during the next week, and then 4 sessions the week after. Find a consistent plan. Consistency is key when it comes to training structure and development ????
3. TAKE OWNERSHIP
If you want to swim to the best of your ability, there are only so many things your coach (if you have a coach) can recommend you doing before you have to ultimately put the work in yourself. Good examples of this can be making sure you consistently perform great underwater’s in training, and take onboard any constructive criticism. You are responsible for you. Taking ownership and having accountability is a great life skill ????
4. GET COMFORTABLE WITH FEELING UNCOMFORTABLE
The first few weeks of a new season, a new training phase, or progressing into a higher level swimming squad will shock your body. Aim to adapt your mindset so that you become aware that your body will take time to adapt to the new norm. Embrace feeling tired, sore and fatigued. This is development. This is part of your journey ✨
